In this Masterclass for students ages 12 through adult, you'll explore (and perform) the stock characters, physicalizations, and situations of the Italian commedia dell'arte style of theatre. Commedia masters Cinzia Grande and Andrea Lattari are graduates of the Accedemia dell-Arte school and have been performing and teaching across Italy and around the world for more than 25 years. They are the artistic directors of Maner Manush Theatre Company.

As you learn from them, it won't take you long to see the commedia style in the comedy of Carol Burnett, Lucille Ball, Tim Conway, Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani on Friends) and even Alison Janney (The West Wing and Mom).

In this adult writing and acting class, you will be introduced to the process of writing an original script and the dynamics of acting the script. Specific topics will include character development, creating the scene's events, and tidbits of what a director looks at. Some memorization is required, as you will be acting your fellow students' scripts.
