Broadway Bound: Musical Theatre for Grades 3-6

In this musical theatre class, students in grades 3-6 will dance to the beat, sing to the rhythms, and learn the foundation of musical theatre. There is a corresponding spring performance class.
Beginning Acting for Grades 6-8
with Henry Reisinger, Jr.

Theatre Games! Movement! And Fun! Students will discover the actor’s tools – body, voice, mind and imagination – and the joy of theatre! This 8-week acting class is for students in grades 6-8. There will be a corresponding spring semester class that includes a performance.

Intermediate Acting for Grades 6-8
with Becky Holahan

Prerequisite: Beginning Acting, fall and spring semesters.
This intermediate acting class is for actors in grades 6-8 who are ready to take the next step into the fabulous world of acting! Develop skills like characterization and listening. There will be a corresponding spring semester class that includes a performance.

Advanced Acting for Grades 5-8
with Preston Boyd

Prerequisite: Beginning and Intermediate Acting, fall and spring semesters.
This advanced acting class for students in grades 5-8 will encourage and emphasize using your imagination. Topics will include characterization and scene study techniques. There will be a corresponding spring semester class that includes a performance.

Say Yes! Improv for Grades 6-8
with Henry Reisinger, Jr.

Learn to say, "Yes!" in this improv class for students in grades 6-8. Improv helps actors think on their feet, participate in group dynamics, and hone their listening skills - a key component in acting. There will be a corresponding spring semester class with a performance by the students.
Musical Theatre for Grades 7-12
with Vanessa Russo

Instructors: Vanessa Russo and Stephanie Jabre Give your musical theatre skills a tune-up! This in-person musical theatre class for grades 7-12 will integrate dance and song for a full musical theatre class experience. You will be amazed at what Vanessa will get your fancy feet to do and won't believe how Stephanie can bring out your singing voice! There is a corresponding spring performance class.

WORKSHOP: Hard Knock Life Audition Prep for Annie
with Alyssa Goudy

Instructors: Sandy Davisson, Vanessa Russo, Stephanie Jabre, and Alyssa Goudy
This 4-day audition prep workshop is for female actors ages 6-12 who are interested in auditioning for the musical Annie.
Topics covered:
- Sept. 20: Theatre etiquette and monologues
- Sept. 27: Prepping for the Vocal Audition
- Oct. 4: Prepping for the Dance Audition
- Oct.11: Characterization and auditioning with "the side"
Students are encouraged to bring in a 30-second monologue for the Sept. 20th class, and 16-32 measures of a song and sheet music for the Sept. 27th class. Feedback will be given. All workshops will be in the Raymond Center Classroom, except the Oct. 4th class which will be in the Education Rehearsal Room in the Main Building.

Adventures in Acting for Homeschoolers Ages 8-14 AT WELLEN PARK
with Tarah Hart

Homeschool students ages 8-14 will discover and develop their actor’s tools–body, voice, mind, and imagination–through improvisation activities, theatre games, and movement. During class time, students will have the opportunity to work individually, in small groups, and as a whole group.
