Technical Theatre for Homeschool Students Ages 8-14

In this unique technical theatre class, homeschool students will have the opportunity to learn from Venice Theatre staff in all technical disciplines: set, costumes, props, lights, and sound. Each class will include hands-on learning experiences that focus on bringing The Sound of Music to life! Students will come to the final dress rehearsal on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m.
Broadway Bound: Musical Theatre for Grades 3-6
with Vanessa Russo

In this musical theatre class, students in grades 3-6 will dance to the beat, sing to the rhythms, and learn the foundation of musical theatre. There is a corresponding spring performance class.
Advanced Acting for Grades 5-8
with Preston Boyd

Prerequisite: Beginning and Intermediate Acting, fall and spring semesters.
This advanced acting class for students in grades 5-8 will encourage and emphasize using your imagination. Topics will include characterization and scene study techniques. There will be a corresponding spring semester class that includes a performance.
Beginning Acting for Grades 3-5
with Henry Reisinger, Jr.

Instructors: Henry Reisinger, Jr. and Eve Grissinger Once students get a taste of the theatre in this beginning acting class for grades 3-5, they will be hungry for more! There will be a corresponding spring semester class that includes a performance.

Intermediate Acting for Grades 4-5

Prerequisite: Beginning Acting, fall and spring semesters.
This intermediate acting class is for actors in grades 4-5 who have completed the beginning class and are hungry for more. There will be a corresponding spring semester class that includes a performance.

Improv for Grades 3-5
with Clint Alexander

This improvisation class customized for students in grades 3-5 is guaranteed fun! Improv aka the joy of acting without a script, develops listening skills, group cooperation, and the ability to think on one's feet. There will be a corresponding spring semester class with a performance.
WORKSHOP: Hard Knock Life Audition Prep for Annie
with Alyssa Goudy

Instructors: Sandy Davisson, Vanessa Russo, Stephanie Jabre, and Alyssa Goudy
This 4-day audition prep workshop is for female actors ages 6-12 who are interested in auditioning for the musical Annie.
Topics covered:
- Sept. 20: Theatre etiquette and monologues
- Sept. 27: Prepping for the Vocal Audition
- Oct. 4: Prepping for the Dance Audition
- Oct.11: Characterization and auditioning with "the side"
Students are encouraged to bring in a 30-second monologue for the Sept. 20th class, and 16-32 measures of a song and sheet music for the Sept. 27th class. Feedback will be given. All workshops will be in the Raymond Center Classroom, except the Oct. 4th class which will be in the Education Rehearsal Room in the Main Building.

Exploration Acting! for Grades 3-6 in WELLEN PARK
with Sandy Davisson

In this introduction to acting class for grades 3-6, students will get a taste of the joy of acting. The class will include theatre games while introducing the actor's tools: body, voice, mind, and imagination.
