3-week Theatre Camp for grades 3-12

Rehearse and perform in our MainStage Jervey Theatre! This in-person 3-week camp is for students in grades 3-12. They will experience the joy of theatre, build acting skills, and most importantly - have fun! The performance is at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 23. Each student will receive 2 comp seats for the performance. Additional seats available for $10. PLEASE NOTE: The Education office will be closed June 27, 2022 - July 4, 2022 and will have limited opportunities to return calls and emails. Musical Theatre Experience - Godspell Jr. for grades 5-12

IMPORTANT: Rehearsals are daily, Monday - Friday from 1 - 4:30 p.m. beginning July 5. However, all students are required to attend the Workshop and parent meeting on June 9 at 6:30 p.m. and the Auditions on June 17 at 6:30 p.m.
"Prepare ye for the timeless tale of friendship, loyalty and love based on the Broadway musical that inspired a generation." An exciting opportunity for students in grades 5-12 to perform in a fully-produced musical in VT's MainStage Jervey Theatre! This 5-week musical theatre intensive is designed for actors, singers, and dancers of all levels. Students will experience everything from auditions through a 5-show run.
There are 5 ticketed performances:
- Thursday, Aug. 4 at 7:30
- Friday, Aug. 5 at 7:30
- Saturday, Aug. 6 at 2 p.m.
- Saturday, Aug. 6 at 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday, Aug. 7 at 2 p.m.
Tuition includes 2 tickets to the opening performance on Aug. 4.

Beginning Acting for Adults
with Preston Boyd

We are born with creativity, imagination, and a desire to tell and hear stories. In this beginning acting class for adults, Preston will help actors to rediscover the inherent imagination that is in all of us. Students will tell a story with a flair, and embrace a world of creative license. Students will participate in the adult class showcase on Aug. 28, 2022, curtain at 7:30 p.m., with a corresponding technical rehearsal from 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022. There will be no class on Saturday, August 20, 2022.

Ripped from The Headlines: Tearing into Devised Theatre
with Scott Keys

"Some people make headlines, others make history." The Living Newspaper is a form of theatre first developed by the Federal Theatre Project back in the 1930s. This class will explore current events with heart, humor, humanity and your own original voice. Poetry, prose, testimonial, song, monologue and scenes will examine the news of the day in an original, collaborative, theatrical way. Local, national or global; From the weather, to the White House, hot topics to pop culture, we look at and try to make sense of the world around us. Speak up, speak out, speak your truth. Make theatre, make news. Students will participate in the adult class showcase on Aug. 28, 2022, curtain at 7:30 p.m., with a corresponding technical rehearsal from 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022. There will be no class on Saturday, August 20, 2022.

Pen to Paper! Beginning Playwriting for Adults
with Preston Boyd

In "Pen to Paper" you will learn what makes a play click! This beginning playwriting class is for adults who want to explore the basic tenets of playwriting. Students will participate in the adult class showcase on Aug. 28, 2022, curtain at 7:30 p.m. with a corresponding technical rehearsal from 9 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022. There will be no class on Saturday, August 20, 2022.
Master Class Workshop: Auditioning w/ Sides for grade 10 - Adults
with Benny Sato Ambush

Benny Sato Ambush, VT's Artistic Director, will cover a range of topics including how to handle fear/nerves, getting your mind where it should be, working with readers, and various "how tos" when auditioning with sides (short scenes from the script). All participants will have a chance to work. They will also roleplay as readers, directors, casting directors, and producers. Audition side material will be provided.
Dynamic Drama - Mondays
with Becky Holahan

This in-person class is for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Students will have fun exploring games and exercises that develop character and acting skills.

Intro to Improv for Adults
with Becky Holahan

Yes And! Learn the basics of improvisational storytelling in this entry-level adult improv class. We will introduce concepts and play a variety of improv games, short-form and long-form. There is no class on Monday, August 15, 2022.
