Theatre Fun for Homeschool Students Ages 5-7

For homeschoolers ages 5-7. Improvisation! Theatre Games! Movement! Have FUN while discovering the actor’s tools – body, voice, mind and imagination. Theatre promotes problem solving, improves communication skills, and encourages positive group dynamics. Students will be involved in a class demonstration on VT's Raymond Center stage and must be available for the tech rehearsal on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 9 a.m. - noon and the performance on Sunday, March 16, 2025, with a 6:30 p.m. curtain.

Ready, Set, Improv! for Homeschool Students Ages 8-14

In this unique and fun theatre class for homeschoolers ages 8-14, students will have the opportunity to explore improvisation while developing the actor's tools of body, voice, mind/imagination and facial expressions. Improvisation develops self confidence, fosters creativity and the ability to think quickly on one's feet.... and did we mention it is sooooo much fun? Prior participation in Beginning Acting suggested but not required. Students will be involved in a class demonstration on VT's Raymond Center stage and must be available for the tech rehearsal on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 9 a.m. - noon and the 6:30 p.m. performance on Sunday, March 16, 2025.

Musical Theatre for Grades 7-12 PERFORMS!

In this musical theatre class, students in grades 7-12 will dance to the beat and sing to the rhythm, as they get ready for the April Showcase on VT's Raymond Center stage. Students must be available for technical rehearsals on Saturday, April 5, 2025, 9 a.m. - noon, and Sunday, April 6, 2025, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m., and for the 7:30 performance on Monday, April 7. No class March 21 during spring break.

Broadway Bound for Grades 3-6 PERFORMS!

In this musical theatre performance class, students in grades 3-6 will dance to the beat with Vanessa and sing to the rhythms with Pamela as they rehearse for their April showcase performance on the Raymond Center stage. Students must be available for tech rehearsals on April 12 from 9 a.m. to noon and April 13 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and for the 7:30 p.m. performance on April 14, 2025. There is no class March 17 during spring break.
Pinky's Players - Mondays

Prerequisite: Students must have been cast to participate in this program. Pinky’s Players is a Venice Theatre community engagement program - with so much heart - that gives adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities a chance to experience the delight of performing on VT's Raymond Center stage in May. Actors must be available for technical rehearsals May 1-8, 2025 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and performances May 8-11, 2025. Please note this program is not structured to offer one-on-one student support. Student actors must meet admission criteria.

Beginning Acting for Grades 3-5 PERFORMS!

Prerequisite: Fall Beginning Acting for grades 3-5 or by permission. In this beginning performance acting class for grades 3-5, students apply the FUNdamentals learned last semester as they rehearse for the Raymond Center Showcase. Students must be available for tech rehearsals on April 12 from 9 a.m. to noon and April 13 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and for the 7:30 p.m. performance on April 14, 2025. There is no class March 18 during spring break.
Intermediate Acting for Grades 4-5 PERFORMS!

Prerequisite: Fall Intermediate Acting for grades 4-5 or by permission of instructor. In this intermediate performance acting class for grades 4-5, students will continue to build their skills and have fun as they get ready to perform on VT's Raymond Center stage. Students must be available for tech rehearsals on April 12 from 9 a.m. to noon and April 13 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m., and for the 7:30 p.m. performance on April 14, 2025.
